
AIS Wine launches its new guide in Milan

The Association of Italian Sommeliers has a new guide: “Vitae”
The last fortnight has been very hectic. After NY and Quebec, I stopped off in Milan for a couple of days, just to attend the launch of the new guide by AIS (Association of Italian Sommeliers), that split with Franco Ricci’s Rome group last year, now at the head of the Italian Sommeliers Foundation that continues to publish the Bibenda Guide.
The new AIS guide is called “Vitae” and is actually not very different aesthetically from Bibenda, but it has been compiled with a new spirit, giving freedom to the presidents of the AIS delegations in the individual Italian regions, so it should be more attentive of local movements. The new Guide has given a special award to some wines that represent the rebirth of a grape variety or a promising winegrowing area. Do you know them?
