Primitivo: the only wine at the top in 2014

In 2014 there is only one wine that everyone agrees on, a Primitivo!
In Italy we have six wine guides, whose number will increase next year, as the Italian Sommeliers Association will create its own one, thus parting company with Bibenda. There are others, though, that analyse only certain types of wines (organic, from native varieties etc…).
For 15 years Civiltà del bere has collected together all the “excellence” ratings of the national guides (Bibenda, Espresso, Gambero Rosso, Slow Wine, Luca Maroni and Veronelli) and put them side by side to indicate the wines most-loved by the critics. There are few wines that everyone agrees on, but this year the result is almost unbelievable: there is only one wine at the top! Es by Gianfranco Fino, a Primitivo di Manduria DOC made from very old alberello-trained vines.
It is a great wine, but can it be that the Italian critics all agree on just one wine? Here are all the wines receiving most ratings from the Italian critics.
