Who’s Who in Winery

Dear friends,
Christmas is coming and we have come to my penultimate letter from Italy for 2014. I ended the year with a great event, the tenth anniversary celebration of the Istituto Grandi Marchi in Milan; the latest issue of our journal Civiltà del bere has just come out (still only in Italy, unfortunately), with a splendid monograph on “longevity”, and we are finalising the “Who’s Who in Winery” Guide, containing lots of free information on over a thousand very important Italian wineries, which you will be able to use online next year (www.civiltadelbere.com).
Among the appointments for 2015, undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited, at least in Italy, is the Expo (on agricultural themes) to be held in Milan from 1st May to 31st October. There will also be a lot of wine, and Veronafiere (who organise Vinitaly) are setting up a special pavilion dedicated to wine. But don’t forget that it’s business as usual elsewhere and there will be three other important fairs in Europe. Starting with ProWein (15th-17th March), then immediately afterwards Vinitaly (22nd-25th March) and then it is Bordeaux’s turn in June with its Vinexpo (14th-18th June). Get ready, there be loads to do!
